Images of Featherston Camp

From the Wairarapa Archives...

Kit Inspection - Of the men pictured here who served overseas,
average figures would dictate that more than one in six would
die at war. A total of 57 per cent would become casualties.

The Camp - Opened in January 1916, the camp trained almost a
third of the 100,000 men who served in the New Zealand Division.

Anzac Hall - Built by local subscription, the hall still exists today.
